All participants will have the chance to attend each session throughout the day!   Comics, Cartoons, & Character Building: There's a superhero, and sometimes a supervillain, in each of us! Create your own characters and tell their stories through sequential art, animation, and games.
Rap, Hip-Hop, & Slam: Words are powerful. Put a little backspin on 'em and you might just change the world. From the Beastie Boys to Tupac to Lin-Manuel Miranda, we'll get inspired by musicians and spoken-word poets, then we'll thrown down our own original verses. We'll even do some "boots and cats!" (Beatboxing, that is.)
Connecting to the Music Around Us: The music and lyrics of our favorite artists and singers provide the soundtrack to our lives as we go from place to place, through our headphones, stereos, or the tune we hum or whistle. Whether we're angry, happy, sad, disappointed, excited, exhausted, or anything in between, there seems to almost always be a song to match our feelings, helping us to feel more connected to the world around us and to ourselves. However, maybe sometimes the song that most clostely captures how we're feeling, hasn't been written yet. Through experimenting with songwriting, poetry and music, we can create our most persoanlized soundtracks, as well as have the opportunity to freely and honestly express the emotions we feel in any style, volume, speed, or words that we want.
